Ivan Popov is Senior Assist. Prof. at the department for German and Scandinavian Studies within the Faculty of Classical and Modern Philology of Sofia University St. Kliment Ochridski (since 2012). In 2007 he graduated in philosophy and German philology at the Georg-August University in Göttingen (Germany), where he earned his PhD in 2011 with a dissertation on philosophical aesthetics. His research interests lie in the domains of the history of German literature and the philosophy of literature and art. He teaches courses in translation (Bulgarian-German and German-Bulgarian), history of German literature and theory of culture.
