Elena Stoyneva obtained a MA degree in Scandinavian Studies from the Sofia University in 2001. From 2003 to 2006, she taught Swedish language at the Sofia University’s courses for external learners. In 2017, Elena Stoyneva joined the staff of Department of German and Scandinavian Studies. She is currently teaching practical Swedish language and Swedish Lexicology and Word-formation to the students enrolled in the BA Programme of Scandinavian Studies. Her research interests focus on lexicology and word-formation. In 2021, Elena Stoyneva obtained a PhD after defending a doctoral thesis on the subject of the formal and semantic analysis of Swedish compounds and their equivalents in Bulgarian.
