Ivan Tenev completed his PhD degree in Scandinavian Studies in 2009 and has been teaching in the Scandinavian Studies Programme at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski since 2004 with a permanent post since 2016. Ivan Tenev took specialisation courses at the University of Oslo, Norway, in 2002, 2006, 2007, 2019 and 2024. His research focuses on applied linguistics, comparative linguistics, lexicology, intercultural communication, and the reception of Norwegian literature in Bulgaria. Ivan Tenev teaches courses in practical Norwegian language, lexicology and word-formation, morphology of the Norwegian language, consecutive interpreting, and methodology of scientific research.
