Mikael Lyshede holds an MA in Bulgarian and Russian Philology from Copenhagen University (2006) with semesters in Lund, St. Petersburg and Sofia. He has been teaching spoken and written Danish as well as translation of Bulgarian into Danish here at Sofia University since 2018.

From 2010 to 2016 he was a lecturer at Tartu University, Estonia responsible for Danish philology and literature at their Scandinavian department.

His main interests are phonetics, didactics and Danish literature from the 1920s.
